Faith During and After Harvey: One Year Later

The Religion and Public Life Program (RPLP) at Rice University, with support from the Boniuk Institute for the Study and Advancement of Religious Tolerance, hosted a panel event at the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Harvey’s landfall in Houston. Held on Rice University's campus on August 30, 2018, panelists addressed the efforts of their respective organizations, both during the storm and in the year following. Panelists included Rev. Alexander Johnson, Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church; Afshi Charania Merchant, Aga Khan Council for Southwestern United States; Paula Pipes, Pipes Research and Consulting; and Jason Plotkin, Congregation Emanu El. The conversation was moderated by RPLP director Elaine Howard Ecklund.
